The DCD709 has a brushless motor that allows the drill to be capable of 1650rpm, a 15 position adjustable torque control and an intelligent trigger design.

The drilling capacity is impressive thanks to the development of power and the brushless motor for this model.  In wood, it is capable of drilling up to 30mm, 13mm in metal and masonry.  With an output of 340W, the drill also includes a chuck capacity of 1.5-13mm.
